Caboose Common will offer beer at the Taste of Annandale

The beer vendor at this year’s Taste of Annandale will be Caboose Commons, a brewery, restaurant, and coffee shop in the Mosaic District.

Caboose Commons is planning to bring several brews to the event, including a summer wheat pale ale, a Vietnamese-style rice lager called Yo!, an Oktoberfest Marzen-type ale, and a hazy Session IPA called Nelson’s Crush.

The Taste of Annandale is next Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space at 7200 Columbia Pike. The event is 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Caboose Commons opened in a former warehouse at 2918 Eskridge Road in Merrifield in 2017, three years after Caboose Tavern opened in Vienna.

Caboose Tavern is a traditional restaurant with servers, while Caboose Commons is more casual with space for big groups, says Tim Wilson, director of operations for both locations.

A new fall menu is coming next month, with seasonal salads, squash, apples, a seasonal cobbler, and an apple chai latte, he says.

Caboose Commons hosts trivia on Tuesday evenings and will have a costume contest for Halloween. Wilson is already gearing up for the annual New Year’s Eve party. The free event will feature a DJ, arcade games, beer pong, live music, disco lights, and a photo booth.
