The Annandale-Mason Roundtable has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Taste of Annandale.
In 2020, the Taste of Annandale was canceled due to the COVID pandemic. “This year, our ability to reliably launch and conduct a Taste at our normal level of quality is simply impossible,” says Roundtable Chair Bob Kahane. “Unfortunately, this year the headwinds were more than we could overcome.”
The Roundtable is planning to be back with a bigger and better Taste of Annandale on Oct. 1, 2022.
Since the first Taste of Annandale in 2015, it has grown every year to become the biggest street festival in Annandale.
At the most recent Taste in 2019, nearly 6,000 people enjoyed food from local restaurants and food trucks, a 5K race, live music and dance, children’s programming, a beer garden, pet contest, and much more.
Contributing to the event’s success was a great team of partners – including the Mason Police District, the ACCA Child Development Center, and the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services – as well as sponsors and dedicated volunteers.
This year, the team ran into several major obstacles, and at this point, there just isn’t time to organize a Taste of Annandale to meet the high standards the community has come to expect.
